These classes are designed for students seeking enrichment through theatre.
Our general theatre arts courses are great for students interested in an overview of theatre. They do not require extracurricular time and are a great way for students to receive their fine arts credit.

Students explore basic acting techniques, technical theatre and interpretation of dramatic literature, stage movement, mime, voice and diction, improvisation and develop audience appreciation skills.

Students extend their acting skills learned in Theatre Arts I. They also study theatre history and performance classical and contemporary theatre, dance, drama, mime, children’s theatre, and musical theatre.

Students extend their skills with continued development of acting skills through physical/vocal exercises and improvisation. They study theatrical modes, including masked theatre, classical and contemporary theatre.

This course extends the learning from Theatre III, and focuses on advanced acting and beginning directing skills
*All theatre students are required to see one live theatrical performance a semester. Students must submit a typed “Play Critique” for each production in order to receive credit. The critique should be written in a paragraph format. Technicians and Actors have different criteria to critique.
